Jim Simmons:

Jim
Simmons was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. His father was
the General Manager of an iron foundry and machine shop that manufactured
textile repair parts for the textile industry and for the military
war effort during World War II.
In the 1960’s
the family bought a second foundry that cast aluminum sand castings.
Jim worked in both the foundry and machine shop as a teenager
gaining experience in sand cast molding, machining of castings
and a technical knowledge of metallurgy and gearing. |
Jim
graduated from Furman University with a business degree, and in 1980,
he received a Masters in Business Administration from Emory University.
He soon went to work for Cox Foundry and Machine Company where he eventually
moved into the role of president.
In 2000, he formed Component Sales Group with his son
David. Jim’s market knowledge of iron and aluminum castings is
vast and comprehensive. He enjoys working with engineers, purchasing
agents and owners of companies to help advise and counsel them regarding
processes and engineering recommendations. He believes in creating win-win
situations that gain customers' trust resulting in long term relationships.
Jim
is married to the former Harriette James who is the rector of
St Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Augusta, Ga. They have
four children and eight grandchildren. Jim is an avid reader and
enjoys spending time with his extended family.
